Bayern Munich drop away shirt in retro style

Plain white, a polo collar and the old EV logo instead of the current crest: Bayern Munich show their new away shirt, debuting on 25 July.

Bayern Munich and adidas have unveiled the new away shirt for the 2026/27 season, and it deliberately reaches into the past: The design references the look of the 90s and early 2000s and reloads it with modern details.

FC Bayern away shirt 2026/27: White, polo collar, historic logo

The base is a plain white, joined by a polo collar and details in red and navy. The traditional character is underlined by the historic logo on the chest: Instead of the current crest, the shirt carries the old FC Bayern München EV lettering.

The club frames the shirt in its away-day narrative, from the tension of foreign stadiums to the floodlit moment before kick-off: It is said to stand for trust in the club's own strength, born of its history and shaped by moments of passion, will and pride, for presence in the decisive matches, and for delivering the best performance under pressure. Some call it aura, Bayern call it Mia san mia.

Bayern are right on trend with this: Across Europe, clubs are reaching into their own past for their new jerseys, polo collars are returning, historic crests are replacing current logos, and old design languages are being revived. In the Bundesliga too, the past is the material of the moment in kit design.

Debuts in July and August

The shirt is first seen on the pitch on 25 July, when Vincent Kompany's team wear the new jersey in their friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden. For the FC Bayern women's team, the away shirt makes its debut on 1 August in the friendly against 1. FC Nürnberg in Donauwörth.

The new away shirt by adidas is available now, in the FC Bayern online store and in all of the club's stores.
