One jersey, four chapters of club history: FC Bayern and adidas have paid tribute to four legendary moments in the new Champions League kit.
At first glance, it's just a new kit, dark, with red accents. In fact, it carries four chapters of club history: FC Bayern and adidas have built in design elements that reference the great matches, titles and goals that shaped the club's story in Europe.
Beckenbauer, Robben, Kahn, Andersson: The Moments Behind Bayern's New Kit
The selection spans from Franz Beckenbauer, who as captain stood at the top of European football in the 1970s, to Arjen Robben's winning goal in the 2013 Champions League final at Wembley. Beckenbauer won three consecutive European Cups with Bayern between 1974 and 1976, the forerunner of today's Champions League. Robben scored in the 89th minute for a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in 2013, deciding the first all-German Champions League final in history.
Then there are two scenes from 2001: Oliver Kahn's saved penalty in the Champions League final in Milan, and Patrik Andersson's free kick that clinched the league title for Bayern in stoppage time against Hamburger SV. Kahn saved three penalties in the shootout against Valencia, while Andersson's goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time denied Schalke 04 the title, it was his only Bundesliga goal in a Bayern shirt. All four moments are now part of a single graphic covering the kit.

The club crest, the three adidas stripes and the FCBM sign-off on the neck stand out in bold red against the dark base colour, for a clean, modern look.
Vincent Kompany's side will wear the new kit for the first time at the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund on 22nd August, the traditional season opener between the German champions and cup winners.
