Juventus bring back pink for the away shirt

Juventus and adidas have unveiled the new away shirt for the 2026/27 Serie A season, and the colour choice is a statement: Pink. What looks at first glance like a fashion statement is in truth a deep dive into the club archive, because before black and white, there was pink at Juventus.

Soft pink, zebra pattern: The new Juventus shirt in detail

The shirt is built on a soft pink base, run through with a subtle engineered pattern inspired by the zebra, the club's enduring symbol. The tonal graphic echoes the Juventus crest used between 1977 and 1982. The collar, sleeve cuffs and the three adidas stripes across the shoulders create a bold black contrast against the pink base. The club crest sits on the chest, alongside a heritage-inspired adidas logo. The collar has been specially reconstructed, according to adidas, and the lightweight engineered fabric is said to support ventilation during the most intense phases of play, thanks to CLIMACOOL+ technology.

Pink before black and white: Juventus' original colour explained

Pink was Juventus' first official colour, worn between 1898 and 1901. Players at the time wore pink shirts with a black tie or bow tie and black shorts. The colours traced back to the Liceo D'Azeglio, the Turin grammar school where the club was founded in 1897.

The switch to black and white came down to practical reasons: The pink shirts faded with every wash. Replacements came from England, since one of the club's founding members was originally from Nottingham, and so Juventus received shirts from Notts County, with the black-and-white vertical stripes that still define the club's look today.

Pink has made repeated comebacks on Juventus' jerseys over the years, most recently in the details of the 2025/26 home shirt. On the new away shirt, it now takes centre stage once again.
