Liverpool to wear a retro-inspired kit in 2026/27

adidas

adidas draws on the white pattern many fans link to the 1990 league title for the new 2026/27 home kit.

The new Liverpool kit isn't all red – and that's exactly what makes it a real eye-catcher. Over the usual red, adidas lays irregular white shapes that break up the solid red. The pattern picks up the design Liverpool wore between 1989 and 1991 – this time for the 2026/27 season, on a current kit.

In Liverpool, almost everyone knows the original. The Reds won their 18th league title in it in 1990. The next one took 30 years. The pattern stayed in people’s memory over the years, partly because of that story.

This time adidas has carried the white all the way through: the logos, the three stripes and the crew-neck collar are all in white. The goalkeeper kit carries the same pattern, only on a green base. It comes with red shorts and red socks.

There’s a new typeface too. Liverpool introduce their own kit font for 2026/27, continuing the new design direction the club began last season – drawn from the Liver Bird, the bird on the crest and the symbol of the city.

The new home kit is available now at the adidas store and the official Liverpool store.
