The laurel wreath from the home kit, a standalone gold lion and a colour combination with history: Chelsea's new away kit is available now.
Chelsea and Nike have unveiled the new away kit for the 2026/27 season, built on a combination with rarity value: Black as the base, paired with accents in the golden shade Midwest Gold. Chelsea last wore a fully black away kit in the 2016/17 season, the campaign that ended with the Premier League title.
Black and Midwest Gold: The new Chelsea kit in detail
Alongside the black, a colour returns that holds a special place with Chelsea fans: For the first time since 2021/22, yellow appears on an away kit again, this time in the shade Midwest Gold, which also features on the new home kit. The away shirt is closely tied to the home jersey: The laurel wreath motif carries over onto the round neck and sleeve cuffs of the away shirt and also appears on the golden socks. Each shoulder carries an engineered gold rib.
One detail stands out in particular: In place of the full club crest, the shirt carries a standalone gold lion emblem, last seen on the 2024/25 third kit. For matches, Nike promises cooling and breathability during intense phases through its Aero-FIT technology.
Unleash The Lion: Chelsea's campaign for the away kit
The away kit completes a campaign with three jerseys: After the home kit under the banner Can't Tame Us and the training collection Train Like Lions, now comes Unleash The Lion. In the campaign film, Chelsea's players together leave a stylised lion's den, emerging from the shadows, united as a pride. Featured are players including Ellie Carpenter, Estêvão, Lauren James, Naomi Girma, Moisés Caicedo and Reece James, with the women's and men's teams appearing side by side.
The kit makes its match debut during the men's upcoming pre-season tour. It is available now in men's, women's and kids' sizes, at the Stamford Bridge Megastore and via the club's online store.
