Nike has introduced a new Player Edition of the Phantom 6 for Erling Haaland. The boot features a detail that only reveals itself once it gets wet – and the Norwegian has already given it a successful debut on the pitch.
An unusual effect sets Erling Haaland’s new Phantom 6 apart: as soon as the boot gets wet, its look changes and previously hidden details emerge.

Haaland’s latest Player Edition is built around the “Impossible to Contain” theme. Icy shades of blue blend across the Flyknit upper, joined by a reflective Swoosh and Haaland’s personal logo, whose spiralling nines reference his shirt number.
How Haaland’s Nike Phantom 6 Reveals Hidden Graphics When Wet
The key detail sits around the heel, where a cloud-like graphic runs across the upper. Nike has used a reactive white ink here that disappears on contact with water, exposing the graphic underneath. Rain, sweat or a wet pitch can trigger the effect.
With the water-reactive design, Nike picks up on a contrast the brand also sees in Haaland’s game: calm on one side, explosiveness on the other.

The idea itself isn’t entirely new for Nike. In 2025, the Hypervenom Phantom RGN “Transform Hydra” used an upper that changed its look on contact with water, revealing blue and black elements underneath. A decade earlier, the Hypervenom Phantom Transform had experimented with a similar principle – only that boot reacted to heat rather than moisture.
Erling Haaland Scores Twice on His New Phantom 6 Debut
Haaland wore the new Player Edition for the first time on 24 September, in Norway’s Nations League meeting with Denmark. In the 3-2 win, the striker first made it 2-0 in the 18th minute. After Denmark had drawn level, he struck again in the 74th minute to settle it.

The boot is the fifth chapter of Haaland’s signature series with Nike. The brand had unveiled his first Phantom 6 Player Edition back in August 2025.
When Is Haaland’s New Nike Phantom 6 Released?
The Nike Phantom 6 Low Elite “Erling Haaland” drops first on 1 October for Nike Members and at selected specialist retailers. A global release on Nike.com and at selected retail partners follows on 5 October.
