Mbappé's New Mercurial Is as Golden as His World Cup Record

Nike

Two Golden Boot titles, 22 World Cup goals, one golden boot: Nike dedicates a Mercurial Superfly 11 to Kylian Mbappé's records. Here are the details.

Kylian Mbappé left the 2026 World Cup as a record-breaker: he became the first player ever to finish as the tournament's top scorer twice and his 22 World Cup goals saw him replace Lionel Messi as the leading scorer in the competition's history. Nike is now turning that into a shoe, dedicating a golden signature boot to the Frenchman: the Mercurial Superfly 11 in "Mtlc Gold/Green Glow/White".

Nike Mercurial Superfly 11: Mbappé's golden signature boot in detail

The upper comes in textured metallic gold, the unmissable nod to Mbappé's World Cup success. White details and teal accents on the Swoosh and branding balance the look. The colour choice is no coincidence: the teal references France's 2026 World Cup away kit and Mbappé's very first signature boot, 2019's "Bondy Dream", named after his hometown.

It gets personal at the heel: a black strip lines up Mbappé's KM monogram, a crown, the "999" and the French rooster. The soleplate carries the stampings "Hungry For More" and "XCVIII", the Roman numerals for 98, Mbappé's birth year. The insole adds the phrase "Sans risques il n'y a pas de victoire", which translates to: without risk, there is no victory.

Golden Boot and 22 goals: the World Cup records behind the golden design

The record this boot celebrates should stand for a long time. Mbappé scored ten times at the 2026 World Cup, making him the first player since Gerd Müller in 1970 to reach double figures in a single tournament. A brace in the third-place match against England also took him past Messi in the all-time World Cup scoring charts, with the new tally reading 22 to 21.

Mbappé had already claimed the top scorer title in Qatar in 2022 with eight goals, making him the first player in World Cup history to score at least eight in back-to-back tournaments. Seven years on from the "Bondy Dream", the talent from the Paris suburb has become the player every future World Cup striker will be measured against, and his new boot tells both ends of that story.

The Mercurial Superfly 11 "Kylian Mbappé" is available now at Nike.
