Hamburger SV bring back „Unsere Perle", an away shirt inspired by the 1979/80 season, complete with a retro collar, championship star and a video linking past players to the current squad.
Hamburger SV and adidas have unveiled the new away shirt for the 2026/27 season. Its blueprint comes from the era the club itself calls the most successful in its history: the design is inspired by the 1979/80 season, a time that remains deeply rooted in the minds of HSV fans to this day. The shirt was developed together with adidas and 11teamsports and carries the nickname „Unsere Perle" (our pearl).
Unsere Perle: the design of the new HSV away shirt
The shirt comes from adidas' Originals line and arrives in dark blue, contrasted by white stripes on the shoulders. The black-and-white V-neck collar echoes the style of the era. The back print also draws on the 1979/80 original: a retro number, paired with the „Hamburg“ lettering.

The chest carries the embroidered HSV crest with championship star and the adidas Trefoil logo. Like the home shirt, the jersey is made from 100 percent recycled material and features adidas' breathable Climacool technology. The result, according to the club, is a look meant to connect the different generations of the HSV family.
HSV campaign links 1979/80 to the current squad
For the launch, HSV produced a video that revisits the players from that era and connects their story to the current squad. Among others, Albert Grönbaek appears in the new shirt, with the video also explaining why it's called „Unsere Perle“.
The goalkeeper shirts come in a retro look too, in four colours: yellow, red, grey and blue.
HSV, meanwhile, released the home shirt for the 2026/27 season two weeks ago.
The away kit is available now for men, women and kids, as well as a mini-kit, in the HSV online store and at adidas. Matching items include black away shorts and white socks with black-and-white hoops.
