A Bembel pattern, an apple wine campaign and a symbol inside the neck: Eintracht Frankfurt bring Hesse's apple wine culture onto their new third kit.
Eintracht Frankfurt have unveiled their new third kit for the 2026/27 season, putting a piece of everyday Hessian culture onto the shirt, just weeks after the white away kit with its retro eagle and adidas' Trefoil logo. The club's third shirt for the new campaign carries the pattern of the Bembel, the traditional apple wine jug found in every Frankfurt pub. The club themselves call the shirt a tongue-in-cheek love letter to the apple wine culture of Frankfurt and Hesse.
Bembel pattern and blue ornaments: the design of Eintracht's third kit
The shirt's base is a blue-grey, with blue ornamental elements across the shoulders and sleeves, the classic Bembel look, translated into a modern matchday shirt. The Eintracht crest is embroidered in black on the chest, three black adidas stripes frame the shoulders, and the collar and cuffs are finished in blue. One detail hides inside the neck: a Bembel symbol there nods to Hessian cultural heritage. On the Eintracht women's shirts, the stars are placed in the same spot.
"Was e Stöffsche!": the campaign between the pub and the terraces
The shirt is presented with a campaign video that sets the tone itself: amid apple wine, dialect and pub warmth comes the exclamation "Was e Stöffsche!", Hessian for a particularly good drop. Timothy Chandler sums up the shirt's idea: "You see the shirt and know immediately: this is Frankfurt, this is Eintracht," says the long-serving fan favourite, adding a chant meant to accompany the shirt through the season: "Erbarme, zu spät, die Hesse komme!" ("Mercy, too late, the Hessians are coming!")
