With the third kit, Hamburger SV's collection for the 2026/27 season is complete: the home kit quotes the shape of the Volksparkstadion in its pattern, the away kit leans into the retro look of the 1979/80 season. The third kit now brings the city itself, in dark blue and red.
The kit was developed together with adidas and 11teamsports, with a culinary detail worked into the design.
Dark Blue and Red: The Colours of HSV's Home Harbour
Dynamic pinstripes in dark blue and red run across the front and lower back, joined by a blue-and-white crew neck and off-white shoulder stripes.
The red elements stand for HSV's home harbour and are meant to bring some of the club's northern German mentality onto the pitch. Visually, the kit is designed to tie in with this season's home and away kits.
The Hanseat: Why a Pastry Is Hidden in HSV's Kit
A detail turns up in the campaign around the kit that you wouldn't expect on a football shirt: the Hanseat, a regional pastry, also worked into the design of the jersey.
HSV explains the choice through its own history: tradition and heritage are meant to be reflected in the club's values, here in miniature, as a piece of pastry. The look is rounded off by the neck print “NUR DER HSV” (“Only HSV,” a common fan expression of loyalty to the club), a stripped-back statement that needs no further explanation and completes the design of the third kit.
