Bayern Munich are continuing their Oktoberfest jersey series, launched in 2021, with another special edition this year. For 2026, the club has moved away from its recent, more understated designs – and gone bolder than ever.
Looking back at Bayern Munich’s recent Oktoberfest jerseys, a few things stand out: Bavarian motifs, muted colours, an edelweiss here, some embroidery there. For 2026, adidas and the German record champions have taken things quite a bit further.
Against a black base, a dense, almost painterly floral print runs across the shirt. Red, blue, green, yellow and orange overlap on the front and sleeves, while the three adidas stripes on the shoulders stay plain white.
Bayern’s New Oktoberfest Jersey: Flowers Instead of Edelweiss
Bayern haven’t completely abandoned the motifs that regularly appear on their Oktoberfest jerseys, though. The club’s specially designed Wiesn crest sits on the chest again, alongside the adidas Originals trefoil. “Oktoberfest” is printed on the back of the neck as well.
Flowers aren’t new either. Edelweiss appeared as embroidery in 2021, and in 2023 adidas scattered mountain flowers across a light green shirt. This time, though, they’re no longer a small detail. They cover almost the entire jersey.
The contrast stands out all the more because the previous two Oktoberfest jerseys were much more restrained. Bayern played in grey in 2024, followed by a cream-coloured shirt with green details in 2025. And of all occasions, Bayern have chosen Oktoberfest 2026 – where tradition isn’t exactly unimportant – to go more colourful than ever.
The idea of a dedicated Bavarian look for Oktoberfest isn’t entirely new, either. Back in the 2013/14 season, Bayern already played in an away kit clearly inspired by lederhosen and traditional Bavarian dress. The club’s current run of standalone Oktoberfest jerseys began in 2021.
Bayern Will Wear the Oktoberfest Jersey Against Union Berlin
Oktoberfest 2026 runs from Saturday, 19 September, to Sunday, 4 October. Almost bizarrely, Bayern won’t play a single match during this year’s festival, due to the international break.
Vincent Kompany’s side will still wear the new jersey, though. On Friday, 18 September – the day before Oktoberfest officially opens – Bayern will debut the colourful, floral look in their Bundesliga home game against Union Berlin.
As in previous years, the Oktoberfest jersey comes alongside its own dedicated collection and has been available since 14 September via Bayern’s online store and club shops.
