VfB Drops New Jersey in Homage to Its Home Neighborhood

Embossed fountain motifs, a chest band that fizzes out like mineral water, and the Cannstatter Kanne on the neck: VfB's new home jersey tells the story of Bad Cannstatt.

VfB Stuttgart has unveiled its new home jersey for the 2026/27 season. Together with supplier JAKO and main sponsor LBBW, the club pays tribute to its home district of Bad Cannstatt, and the inspiration comes above all from one thing: water.

The history of Bad Cannstatt is closely tied to its mineral water springs: the output volume is the second largest in Europe, and 13 fountains are officially recognised as healing springs.

The district's reputation as a spa town also contributed to English spa guests introducing football here in the mid-19th century, earlier than almost anywhere else in Germany.

VfB Stuttgart: the chest band fizzes out like mineral water

The jersey translates this history into its design. Embossed motifs across the entire shirt are inspired by Cannstatt's Klösterlebrunnen fountain, combined with regional symbols such as the stag antlers and the Rössle horse. The red chest band extends visually across the coloured sleeves and, in a nod to Cannstatt's mineral water, fizzes out in a flowing pattern towards the top.

The embroidered VfB crest is deliberately larger, joined by a slim round-neck collar in the club colours and one of the oldest depictions of the Cannstatter Kanne jug on the back of the neck. Players and fans will wear the same jersey.

"The new VfB home jersey picks up the cultural roots of Bad Cannstatt in numerous embossed motifs," says Tobias Röschl, board member for marketing and sales at JAKO. "With the deliberately larger embroidered VfB crest badge and many other loving details, an individual design has emerged that reflects the character of the club in a special way."

The jersey line also includes two goalkeeper shirts in neon green and neon orange, with the matching shorts continuing the fountain ornaments.

The jersey is available now online and in the VfB fan shops: at the stadium, in Stuttgart's city centre and at Breuningerland in Ludwigsburg. On the pitch, the jersey makes its debut on Thursday, July 16, at the public first training session at the VfB club grounds.
