Bayer 04 and New Balance unveil new home kit

Bayer 04 Leverkusen / New Balance

Bayer 04 Leverkusen return to the classic stripe look. The new home kit by New Balance combines the club's colours with a cross motif and a hidden nod to the BayArena.

Two weeks after the away kit, Bayer 04 Leverkusen have unveiled the home kit for the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. Supplier New Balance draws on the black-and-red stripe look that has become the club's trademark. Both jerseys of the new season have now been unveiled within just a few weeks.

The base of the home shirt is a deep black, combined with bold vertical red bands. Toward the hem, a cross pattern unfolds, taking up the club's central symbol.

Stripes, cross, BayArena: The design of the new Bayer 04 home kit

Within the red areas sits a fine stripe pattern that echoes the roof structure of the BayArena. The architecture of the club's own stadium becomes part of the shirt, a detail only visible on closer inspection. The Bayer 04 crest in the club's 4C colours sits on the chest.

Just how seriously the club takes the symbolism is clear from the words of Markus Breglec, Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Bayer 04: "The cross detail is a reminder that Bayer 04 is more than just a club." It reflects, he added, a shared identity built on courage and lived by generations of fans and players alike.

Recycled polyester and an Elite version: The technology by New Balance

Technically, New Balance builds the shirt on a performance chassis with integrated jacquard technology, said to deliver breathability, comfort and shape retention. The fan version's fabric is made entirely from recycled polyester, complemented by mesh inserts.

The home kit is available in kids', adult and women's fit sizes. Fans wanting the shirt in the exact version worn by the first team can opt for the Elite variant: identical to the jersey the squad wears during the 2026/27 season, built on a material mix with a higher elastane content for the demands of match play. It is available now in the club's official online store.
