Dortmund Dedicate Their New Away Shirt to the Away Support

Black, two yellow accents and a zigzag pattern: BVB's new away shirt for 2026/27 belongs to the fans who follow the club across Europe.

Borussia Dortmund and Puma have unveiled the new away shirt for the 2026/27 season, and this time the dedication takes centre stage: under the motto “Wherever we go”, the shirt belongs to the fans who follow BVB across the Bundesliga and across Europe. After the purple alternate shirt, it's the next Dortmund drop this summer.

The design goes all in on black, interrupted only by two glowing yellow marks: the club crest and the Puma logo. A tonal zigzag pattern runs across the fabric, which according to the club is meant to reflect the energy of a fanbase that never travels alone. The restraint suits the shirt: from a distance it reads as a clean black jersey, and only up close does the movement in the weave reveal itself.

Black is familiar territory for Dortmund away shirts; what's new is the consistency: no yellow stripes, blocks or gradients, the club's identity sits solely in two small, precise touches of colour.

Wherever we go: a homage to BVB's travelling support

Away days are part of Borussia Dortmund's DNA, and few German clubs fill away ends as reliably. That's exactly what the campaign is about: “Wherever we go” dedicates the shirt to the fans who get up early, cover long distances and fill stadiums across Europe in black and yellow, “from the away end to the journey home”, as the club's announcement puts it.

Dedicating an away shirt to the away support sounds obvious, yet it's rare. Away shirts usually tell stories of cities, archives or colour experiments; Dortmund tell one about the people who carry the shirt to faraway places.

The new away shirt is available now in the BVB online store and in the club's fan shops, as well as online at Puma.
