Kith and Adidas Football have developed a new collection together with Lionel Messi. It celebrates two milestones: 20 years since Messi’s World Cup debut in 2006 and Kith’s 15th anniversary.

Kith and Adidas Football have developed a new collection together with Lionel Messi. It celebrates two milestones: 20 years since Messi’s World Cup debut in 2006 and Kith’s 15th anniversary.

The collection launches globally on 29 May. It was developed over the course of a year by Kith founder Ronnie Fieg and Messi. At its centre is the connection between performance football apparel, lifestyle products and collector culture.

The design is shaped by three influences: Kith, adidas Football and Messi. Anniversary emblems and Kith’s KXVH monogram also appear across several pieces in the collection. The performance line picks up important moments from Messi’s career. It includes jerseys inspired by 2006, when Messi was still wearing the number 19. New interpretations featuring his later iconic number 10 are also part of the collection.

The jerseys are complemented, among other pieces, by matching shorts, tracksuits, warm-up pullovers, socks, sports bags and co-designed footballs.

The lifestyle range combines Kith’s elevated fashion language with the sporting heritage of adidas Football. It includes a double-breasted suit, a blazer-and-shorts combination, distressed denim pieces, knitted polo shirts, wool tracksuits and leather accessories.

Footwear also plays a central role. In total, the collection includes six models across performance and lifestyle. Among them are the COPA Mundial 17 UltraBOOST, the F50 Megaride, the F50 Walkable Cleat, two versions of the Handball Spezial and a reworked version of the Superstar.

For the launch, Kith, Adidas Football and Messi have also created two limited-edition collectible cards. They feature images of Messi and pieces from the collection. The cards will be included with selected jersey and footwear purchases.

In addition, fewer than 100 signed and PSA-certified cards will be added at random to online and in-store orders.

The launch is accompanied by a campaign featuring Messi. It includes a photo series and the short film “The International Language of Messi”. The film focuses on Messi’s global cultural influence and combines multilingual commentary with flashbacks to key moments from his career.

The film was first shown on 24 May during an Inter Miami match at Chase Stadium. The “Kith & Messi for Adidas Football” collection launches globally on 29 May and will be available via Kith.com, the Kith app and all Kith stores.
