Travis Scott and Nike release the “Athlete Series”: a collection of tees, hoodies and jerseys featuring five of Nike's biggest football stars.
Travis Scott remains in World Cup mode. Together with Nike, the rapper releases the “Athlete Series” for the ongoing World Cup, a collection of tees, hoodies and jerseys featuring five of Nike's biggest football stars. Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior represent the present, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho the generations before them.
The look draws from the bootleg shirts of the 90s, unofficial fan tees once sold outside stadiums and concert halls. Oversized portrait prints, airbrush aesthetics, scrawled handwritten lettering in blue, green and red, plus the colours of each player's national flag. This time, everything is officially licensed and comes from Cactus Jack and Nike.
From Haaland to Ronaldinho: the pieces of the Athlete Series
The collection consists of 15 pieces: tees, hoodies and retro jerseys featuring the portraits of the five players, each in its own colours. The tees come in white with a portrait and a coloured Swoosh, the hoodies in black with the player's name and number on the sleeve. The collared retro jerseys combine portraits and action shots in a collage style. Three Total 90 pieces complete the range: a brown football jersey, matching shorts and a goalkeeper jersey with a green-brown pattern. Total 90 branding runs throughout the collection, a reference to the Nike era of the early 2000s. Much of it comes in the muted earthy tones typical of Cactus Jack.
Travis Scott's next football drop of the summer
Earlier this summer, the Total 90 collection arrived, a 50-piece range of jerseys covering ten World Cup nations, followed in late June by the Cactus Jack Phantom 6, Travis Scott's first own Nike football boot, which Erling Haaland wore on the sidelines at the World Cup match against France.
