A historic stadium clock provides the template for Young Boys' new kit. Behind it is Munich design studio Bureau Borsche, which has already brought the Aare river and Bern's famous figure fountains onto shirts for the Swiss club.
In front of the Wankdorf stadium in Bern stands a piece of the old Wankdorf: the legendary stadium clock. It once belonged to the stadium where Germany became world champions in 1954. When the old Wankdorf was demolished in 2001, the clock survived. Today it stands on the Quartierplatz, right in front of the stadium.
Now the Wankdorf clock becomes the motif on Young Boys' new third kit for the 2026/27 season. The clock face runs across the jersey as a dark blue tone-on-tone pattern. On the hem, the clock also appears as its own graphic. Gold sleeves, light blue details, a historic YB crest and the classic Nike swoosh complete the design. The back reads “Wankdorf.”

The kit was created together with Bureau Borsche. The Munich design studio has worked with Young Boys for several seasons now, repeatedly finding its templates in Bern.
The Studio Behind YB's Kits Is Bureau Borsche From Munich
Bureau Borsche was founded in Munich in 2007 by graphic designer Mirko Borsche. The studio shapes how brands, magazines and cultural institutions present themselves, from logos to publications, campaigns and fashion projects. Bureau Borsche's client references include brands such as Supreme, Balenciaga, Birkenstock, ON and Rimowa, among others.
The studio has long been active in football too. For Inter Milan, Bureau Borsche developed the club's new visual identity in 2021. At Venezia FC and Athens Kallithea, the studio also worked on the visual identity and designed kits over several seasons.
Bureau Borsche's first public work for Young Boys can be dated back to the 2024/25 season. That's when a third kit was created, its template flowing through Bern: the Aare.
The blue-green base colour and a tie-dye effect picked up on the moving water. Iridescent Nike, YB and sponsor logos were meant to capture the light reflections on the Aare. The kit was limited to 1,898 pieces, a nod to YB's founding year, 1898.
For the warm-up jersey of the same season, Bureau Borsche drew on the city again. According to YB, its design was inspired by Bern's old town.
From the Aare to the Wankdorf Clock: How Bern Ends Up on YB's Kits
A year after the Aare kit, the next template led into Bern's old town. For the 2025/26 third kit, Bureau Borsche took the city's eleven historic figure fountains as its starting point.
The apricot base drew on the limestone of the historic stone fountains, with red and gold accents echoing the robes and armour of their figures. A dedicated emblem was created for the collar, uniting all eleven fountains. Among the men, the jersey was used as the third kit; the YB women wore it as their away kit.

The collaboration continues into 2026/27. The grey-striped away kit with yellow details was also created with Bureau Borsche. The campaign featuring YB legend Guillaume Hoarau was photographed in the courtyard of the Capitol Haus in Bern's old town.
A clear pattern has emerged by now with the third kits. Three seasons in a row, Bureau Borsche has taken up a specific motif from Bern: the Aare in 2024, the figure fountains in 2025, the Wankdorf clock in 2026.
For the newest of these kits, the template was right on the studio's doorstep: on the Quartierplatz, in front of the Wankdorf.
