The Palace x Nike England Collection Is Already One of the Strongest of the World Cup

After the presentation of the Palace x Nike collection, the first team appearance follows: ahead of the World Cup, England now makes the London streetwear look visible directly on the players.

In the 1-0 win against New Zealand, England wore pieces from the Palace x Nike collection around a national team match for the first time. In their penultimate test before the World Cup, the team of head coach Thomas Tuchel won in Tampa through a goal from captain Harry Kane. The players were already seen wearing T-shirts and jackets from the collection when entering the stadium. During the warm-up, the team then wore the matching warm-up shirts.

The pieces are part of “The Three Lions by Palace”, the joint collection by Palace, Nike and England. It combines English football tradition with the style of the London skate label. The warm-up shirts have a dark base colour, light graphics and red details. The shirts feature the England crest and a joint Nike-Palace logo. They remain clearly recognisable as England shirts, but visibly carry Palace’s signature – and that is exactly what could make them sought-after World Cup pieces.

The collection also includes further performance and lifestyle pieces. These include training jackets, training pants, T-shirts, caps, beanies, silver anthem jackets, a varsity jacket made of leather and wool, as well as a black leather sneaker from Nike’s Cryoshot line.

When the Nike x Palace England collection will be available

The collection will first be released on June 12 via Palace and the sales channels of the English national team. On June 13, it will be released at Dover Street Market, followed by the Nike SNKRS app and selected retailers on June 16.

The appearance against New Zealand is part of Nike’s World Cup projects for the tournament. Ahead of the World Cup, the US sportswear company released several national team collections in collaboration with well-known brands. Alongside England x Palace, France x Jacquemus, Canada x Nocta, Netherlands x Patta and USA x Virgil Abloh Archive are also part of Nike’s major World Cup campaign.

Palace fits England because the brand comes from London and has been drawing on motifs from football and British fan culture for years. In the 1-0 win against New Zealand, the team wore this look themselves. On the pitch, it was a narrow test-match win. Visually, it was a sign of how important clothing has become for the appearance of national teams ahead of this World Cup.
