VfB Stuttgart continues its journey through Bad Cannstatt: the new third kit draws on a gold find over 2,500 years old, unearthed in two Celtic burial mounds.
VfB Stuttgart and JAKO have unveiled the new third kit for the 2026/27 season, and its design carries over 2,500 years of history. Under the name Cannstatt Couture, it continues the club's tribute to its home district of Bad Cannstatt, this time with a chapter from antiquity.
In the middle of the 1st millennium BC, Celtic tribes settled in Bad Cannstatt. In the first half of the 20th century, a significant gold find was made in two richly furnished graves from that era, now on display at the Landesmuseum Württemberg in Stuttgart's Altes Schloss. That very find now shapes the design of the new shirt.
Cannstatt Couture: the design of VfB's new third kit in detail
The first thing that stands out on the jersey is the combination of a golden base colour and black chest band. The black sleeve cuffs feature an abstract pattern echoing the Cannstatt gold find, while the all-over embossed texture of the fabric picks up on the ornamentation of ancient craftsmanship.
The embroidered VfB crest is deliberately larger, in line with the home shirt. The collar also features a depiction of the Cannstatter Kanne jug from the 19th century, a detail that rounds off the journey through the district.

The third kit is the second chapter in a journey through the history of Bad Cannstatt. The home shirt came first, putting the district's rich mineral water deposits centre stage. The third kit now looks much further back, into long-vanished times.
Both shirts were created in close collaboration with supplier JAKO and main sponsor LBBW. The third kit is available now in VfB Stuttgart's online store.
