An injury kept Neymar off the pitch against Morocco at the World Cup – but he still stood out beside it, above all with two details: the Nike Shox R4 “Brazil” and a diamond-set Rolex.
The calf injury that has slowed him since late May kept Neymar out of the starting eleven for the 1-1 draw with Morocco at the New York New Jersey Stadium. He made himself seen anyway. Brazil’s blue pre-match shirt on the touchline was mandatory; the rest was his own choice: a white cap, eye-catching jewellery, a heavily set Rolex and a pair of striking sneakers.
The shoes are what sneaker fans likely spotted first: the Nike Shox R4 “Brazil”. Nike markets the model explicitly as a tribute to the Seleção. The Shox are recognisable by the typical R4 sole with its visible cushioning columns at the heel, paired with a silver-and-black upper, a small yellow Swoosh and blue accents. The shoe is available for €149.99 ($155 in the US) at Nike’s online store.
Neymar’s Touchline Rolex Costs Around €175,000
His wrist drew even more attention. It’s a Rolex Lady-Datejust 28 – a compact watch measuring 28 millimetres across, made from 18-carat yellow gold. According to Rolex, the model is set with diamonds throughout: 44 on the bezel, 596 on the President bracelet and 291 on the diamond-paved dial, plus diamond-set case sides and lugs.
That the watch officially belongs to the “Lady” line clearly means nothing to Neymar. The model is worn by men too. It fits his taste for expensive, visibly staged details. The list price, according to Rolex, is €175,100 – or $181,700 in the US.
The Nike Shox “Brazil” pick up on the Seleção, the Rolex sets the luxury exclamation mark: even without minutes on the pitch, Neymar draws the eye beside it.
