This Stone Island World Cup football boot reacts to heat

Stone Island / New Balance

Stone Island is best known in football from the stands. Now the badge appears on a football boot that could show up at the 2026 World Cup. Why this particular model is the most exciting piece from the shared collection with New Balance.

Stone Island and New Balance already have history in football. Raheem Sterling wore a special Furon at the 2022 World Cup, Bukayo Saka followed in 2025 with another version of the football boot. Now that line continues.

The Furon Elite FG v9 is especially interesting because its upper reacts to heat. Depending on the temperature, the graphic changes. With that, Stone Island brings one of its best-known ideas to a football boot: material that visibly changes. On the Furon, the Stone Island badge sits on the heel.

In London, the heat-reactive approach was also transferred to a billboard. A Stone Island and New Balance billboard changes colour through heat – matching the upper of the Furon. Boot, campaign and advertising all follow the same principle: surface reacts to temperature.

The Tekela Elite Low FG v5 is also part of the collection. The second football boot from the collection is more focused on ball control, with grip elements, anatomical construction and a chrome-like heel area. Here, the Stone Island badge sits on the underside of the football boot.

The collection also includes a kit made from recycled polyester jacquard, matching performance socks and a thermally bonded 32-panel match ball. References to ’90s football culture run through the colours, materials and details.

Endrick and Bukayo Saka give the boots the right stage. Both are among New Balance’s most important football faces and are part of the campaign. In training with the Brazilian national team, Endrick has already worn the Tekela Elite Low FG v5, while Saka appeared in training with the England national team in the Furon Elite FG v9. The Stone Island x New Balance collection is available online at Stone Island and in selected stores.
