Neymar marks World Cup return in PUMA by designer KidSuper

PUMA

Timed to Neymar's return to the Brazilian national team, PUMA and KidSuper present a signature football boot, designed around one of the most powerful symbols in sport: the phoenix.

The 2026 World Cup is underway and Neymar Jr. is back. Sidelined by a calf injury that kept him out of Brazil's opening group games, he came off the bench at 3-0 up against Scotland in the 75th minute. His first international appearance since October 2023, his first cap in over two and a half years. The Brazilian fans inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami celebrated his substitution as if it were a goal. PUMA had already commissioned KidSuper ahead of the occasion, to design a PUMA Future for him – timed perfectly to his return to the pitch.

KidSuper is the label of New York-based designer Colm Dillane, who has been a regular PUMA collaborator since 2020. Dillane played football himself, as a midfielder at New York University. He then spent a year in Brazil, whose style and energy continue to shape his approach to design to this day. He describes Neymar as one of his heroes since childhood.

The concept was developed jointly between Neymar Jr., KidSuper and the PUMA team: the phoenix. A symbol of the setbacks Neymar has overcome throughout his career, a ruptured ACL, a thigh injury, lengthy spells on the sidelines, and the comebacks that have defined him as a player and a person.

KidSuper's Signature: Phoenix, Yellow and the Colours of the Seleção

The boot opens with a yellow base, a colour personally chosen by Neymar Jr., unmistakably Brazilian. A hand-drawn phoenix graphic by KidSuper spans the upper, with feather elements woven into the FUTURE's 3D textured surface. The green PUMA cat nods to Neymar's Brazilian roots, and together with the yellow base, completes the classic colour scheme of the Seleção.

Neymar's PUMA Future: Three Dream Symbols on the Sockliner

On the sockliner, the insole inside the boot, inspired by Neymar's “Brazilian boy” tattoo, are three hand-drawn dream symbols: a football pitch, a home, a World Cup trophy. The dreams of a boy from Brazil who became one of the most recognised footballers on the planet, captured in a place only he sees when he puts the boot on.

KidSuper personally delivered the boot to Neymar Jr. in a custom seeding case, ahead of Brazil's final group game at the World Cup 2026. At his comeback against Scotland, Neymar wore the PUMA Future on the pitch.

The PUMA Future for Neymar Jr. is available from 26 June 2026 via PUMA.com and selected retailers worldwide.
